She was married to Arthur Elijah Coardes, SR and they had four children Roosevelt Cordes, Arthurene Coardes Penceal, Mary Lee Coardes and Arthur E. Verneater Pryor Coardes was born in Summerville, SC, to the parents of Ben Pryor and Levinia Walker Pryor on May 12, 1916.
